Software and services are listed in a scrollable list and are displayed in order by their title and include the following information:

Title: software or service product's name.

Platforms: what operating system the software or service can be run on or requires.

Description: what function the software or service performs.
-
Categories: what searchable category a piece of software or service in included within.

At the top of the catalog page, there is both a search field and a categories field for a filtered search. Type in the name of a software or service in the search field and/or click: Any to select a category to filter by, click: Apply to refine your search.

To see detailed information for a software or service, click: its Title.

A new web page will open that provides the software or service product's description, including any product related information specific to KU. Any associated costs for the product, subscription information, or information about discounts are also provided. The left side of the page contains a list of who is eligible to receive a software license or service and what platforms support them.

As you scroll further down the page, information under the Access heading provides details about how and where a product or service can be attained.

If there are any access restrictions to software licensing or a service, these details will be provided. This includes restrictions specified toward subgroups of faculty, staff, or students (i.e., undergraduate students, graduate students, undergraduate student workers, graduate student workers, etc.).

If the software can be downloaded from the KU Software Web Store: https://kusoftware.ku.edu/shop/, you will be directed to access it there.

If the software must be downloaded from the software manufacturer, you will be directed to access it there. If the software can't be downloaded for free from the manufacturer, contact your IT representative and refer to the article: Technology Purchases - Basics and How to Buy for instructions on how a purchase can be made.

Further down the page, you will find information about how to receive support for the software or service product, along with links to any available training and tutorials, if applicable.
