Microsoft SharePoint - Site Access

There are multiple ways to access a site shared in SharePoint. You can view the site by accessing it through a direct URL, searching for the site, or following the site.

Accessing the site through a direct URL:

When someone shares a site with you, you'll receive an email containing a link to the site. The email will look like the image shown below. To access the shared content, simply click the link in the email, and it will take you directly to the site.

Please note that accessing the site in this way may require you to log in using your YourOnlineID@home.ku.edu as the username. You will then be directed to the KU login screen, where you will enter your KU OnlineID and password. After logging in, you will be taken directly to the site you were trying to access.

Searching SharePoint for the Site Name:

  1. Sign in to SharePoint at kansas.sharepoint.com.

  2. In the top center of the page, there is a search bar where you can search for sites.

Following a Site:

  1. To follow a site, select the Follow option in the top right corner of the page. To unfollow, click Follow again.
