Summary
Zoom is a video conferencing app used to host online meetings. Microsoft Teams is the officially supported video conferencing app at the University of Kansas. See the links below in the "Reference Items" section for more information on Teams.
The following details how to connect Zoom to your KU Email Calendar.
Connecting Zoom to KU Calendar
Connecting Zoom to your KU Calendar allows you to easily see up coming events to help stream line setting up new events or meetings. Though the screen shots below are from a Mac, the process is similar on Windows devices.

Open Outlook.

Select: Calendar then: New Event.

Click: Zoom.

Click: Settings.

Click: SSO at the bottom-right of the screen.

Enter: kansas in the field to the left of .zoom.us.

Enter your KU Online ID and password to Single Sign-On.

The screen below will confirm that you have added Zoom access to your KU Microsoft account.

Configure Meeting Provider
Selecting your meeting provider in outlook will default all new meetings to Zoom for future meetings. This does not prevent you from scheduling meetings in other platforms. See the "Connecting Zoom to KU Calendar" section above for further details about calendar functions.
Mac Devices

Open Outlook.

Click: Outlook in the top-left of the screen, then click: Settings.

Click: Calendar.

Click: Configure next to Add online meetings to all events.

Here you can alter the settings of your Outlook meetings.

To turn this setting off, make sure the button next to Add online meeting to all meetings is unchecked.

To turn this setting on or alter it, leave the same button checked and select the button next to Zoom to add a Zoom meeting to every Outlook meeting you create.

Click: Save to save your changes.

Windows Devices

Open Outlook.
-
Click: File.

Click: Options in the bottom-left corner.

Click: Calendar.

Click: Meeting Providers next to Add online meeting to all meetings.

Here you can alter the settings of your Outlook meetings.

To turn this setting off, make sure the button next to Add online meeting to all meetings is unchecked.

To turn this setting on or alter it, leave the same button checked and select the button next to Zoom to add a Zoom meeting to every Outlook meeting you create.

Click: OK to save your changes.

Outlook Plugin
You can schedule meeting with Zoom within Outlook using the Zoom plugin.
Mac Devices

Open Outlook.

Click the three dots below and to the right side of the search box, then click: Get Add-ins.

Enter: Zoom in the search bar and click the search result.

Click: Add.

The Zoom plugin is now added to outlook. You can schedule meetings directly with zoom after you connect your KU calendar zoom. See the "Connecting Zoom to KU Calendar" section above for more information.
Windows Devices

Close Outlook on your computer, if it is open.

Navigate to: https://zoom.us/download.
-
Click: Download under Zoom Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.

Run the downloaded ZoomOutlookPluginSetup.msi file.

Click: Next.

Click: Next.

Click: Next.

Click: Yes if prompted by the User Account Control (UAC) to make install the software.

Click: Close.

Open Outlook and in the Home tab, you will now see a Zoom button on the toolbar.
The Zoom plugin is now added to outlook. You can schedule meetings directly with zoom after you connect your KU calendar zoom. See the "Connecting Zoom to KU Calendar" section above for more information.
