IT Knowledge Base - Submitting Knowledge Base Requests

Access the knowledge base request form by clicking the following link: Knowledge Base Request, then click: Knowledge Base Request on the right.

• If prompted to enter your single-sign on information after clicking the knowledge request link, do so to proceed.

Once the request form opens, you will be prompted to enter information needed to complete your request, including what needs to be modified, the intended audience of the modification, and article drafts or resources that can be used for the modification or creation of a new article.

1. Complete the following items, then scroll down in the form:

   1. Title - either a short description of what your request entails or the requested title for a new or existing article.

   2. Requester - your name or another person's name, if you are creating the request for another individual.

   3. Type of KB Modification - whether this request is to create a new article or revise an existing knowledge resource.

      1. If New Article is selected, continue to step 2 below.

      2. If Article Modification is selected, go to step 3 below.

2. For new article requests, complete the following items, then go to step 4 below.

   1. New Article Title - enter the desired title or keywords to use in the title.

      • Note: the requested title may differ from the final title.

   2. New Article Summary - enter a short description that summarizes the contents of the article.

   3. Intended audience - check one or more boxes that indicate the audience for whom the article is intended. This will guide where the article should be published and its visibility permissions. If you check Other, specify below in the any other details box below.

3. For article modification requests, indicate what article needs to be modified by entering either its title, link, or a short description.

   • Additional information or details can be entered in item 4A below.

4. Complete the following items, then click: Submit at the bottom of the page.

1. Any other details - provide any additional information for your request and/or comments or questions for the KU IT Knowledge Services staff.

2. Requested Due Date - Indicate the date the request needs to be fulfilled (provide additional information as necessary in 4A above).

3. Attachment - Attach any article drafts, vendor documentation, or reference materials.

   • If you wish to attach more than one item, either zip all items together into one folder or open your request after you submit it and click: + next to Attachments.

Once your request is submitted, a member of KU IT Knowledge Services will be in touch to gather any further required information, set expectations for delivery time, and notify you if your request has been approved or rejected. Response times are typically one day to one week, depending upon the timeline you have outlined in your request.

If you have any questions after you submit your request, either reply to the system generated email created when you submitted your request (you must have been listed as the requester in the form you submitted) or send an email to itknowledge@ku.edu.
