The following guidelines apply to visitors, guests, and short-term collaborators who bring their personally owned devices (BYOD) to the University of Kansas (KU) campus. Guests may connect devices to KU Guest Wi-Fi and publicly accessible KU resources. Restricted systems require authorization. Expand each section below for a full list of guidelines.
These guidelines apply to the individuals listed below when accessing all KU-managed event spaces, meeting rooms, and lecture halls during events:

Guidelines - General

You can bring your own device (BYOD).

Presenters may use their own laptops and devices for events in KU spaces.

All BYOD power and connection accessories should be provided by the presenter and is their responsibility.
Guidelines - Network and Connectivity

Audiovisual (AV) connectivity standard (minimum): Each supported room will offer modern display connectivity options, including HDMI, USB-C, and/or wireless presentation solutions, such as AirMedia, etc.

Wireless network: KUGUEST wireless service is available to all campus visitors. Simply select "KUGUEST" in your device's Wi-Fi settings.

Visitors from member institutions may use the eduroam network by logging in with their home institution username and password.
Guidelines - Support

KU IT supports audiovisual (AV) and presentation infrastructure owned by KU and within KU-owned spaces.

If you have any problems with the presentation equipment and/or AV hardware in a KU space, please contact Classroom Technologies (785-864-1200 / Service Catalog).

KU IT does not provide support for the BYOD device that a guest may bring.
