Portfolio and Project Management

Project portfolio management and related project management services.

Each new IT Project Request goes through the IT Project Governance process and is evaluated by the KU IT Project Steering Committee and IT Leadership to provide a scalable structure, framework, and prioritization process for each new project request.

By developing and using these frameworks built on best practices, KU will ensure that appropriate reviews are performed on IT solutions before they are developed, purchased, and/or implemented.

These reviews will be done with an eye toward alignment with the Jayhawks Rising Strategic Plan and the KU IT Strategic Plan to support the core missions of the University of Kansas.

The structure also allows for security reviews and feasibility reviews, so that any IT solutions implemented are secure and in the best interest of KU.

Please select Request New IT Project on the right for project management assistance by noon on Fridays in order to be reviewed by the next Steering Committee, which is held weekly on Wednesday afternoons. After the Steering Committee reviews and makes recommendations, the project request is typically reviewed by IT Leadership on the following Wednesday morning, after which the Project & Change Management Office will provide an update. Please visit the Project and Change Management Office webpage for more information about our services.
