PURPOSE:

This policy provides information about seat deposits that some academic programs require students to pay to reserve a space in the program.

APPLIES TO:

All University of Kansas students

CAMPUS:

Edwards, Lawrence, Juniper Gardens, Parsons, Yoder, Topeka, Medical Center, Kansas City, Salina, Wichita

POLICY STATEMENT:

Some academic programs require students to pay a seat deposit to reserve a space in the program in which the student has been admitted. Seat deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to a future semester in the same program or another program. Students who pay the seat deposit but do not attend will have their deposit forfeited. For those who pay their seat deposit and matriculate, the amount will be credited to their tuition. Dollar amounts and deadlines vary by academic program, so students should contact the academic department in which they plan to enroll for specific requirements.
