PURPOSE:

To describe parking violations and consequences.

APPLIES TO:

All faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors.

CAMPUS:

Edwards

POLICY STATEMENT:

Free parking is available to faculty, staff, students and visitors in any parking lot on campus. 

There is accessible parking available in the parking lot on the east side of the Regents Center (next to Quivira Road), the west end of the south parking lot by Regnier Hall (next to 127th Street), the north side of the BEST Building, and in the circle drive on the east side of the BEST Building.

Parking violations on the Edwards Campus constitute parking in the following areas:

1. Crosswalks

2. Blocking driveways

3. No Parking zones

4. Delivery areas

5. Areas not designated as parking spaces

6. Accessible parking without proper authentication (Overland Park Police will be notified and a ticket could be issued)

7. Blocking other vehicles

8. Parking in fire lanes

9. Overnight parking on campus without prior approval by the Director of Administrative & Fiscal Services

CONSEQUENCES:

Parking violations could result in car being towed away and retrievable at owner's expense.

07/15/2015: This policy was originally created on 01-20-2007. The Edwards Campus Policy & Procedures Committee changed the title to make it uniform, added new accessible parking information at BEST, added “without prior approval” to overnight parking violation, removed tow company name, and updated contact information. During a comprehensive review of all Edwards Campus policies, the Edwards Campus Vice Chancellor reviewed and reapproved this policy
