Self-Guided Children’s Group Visit

Thank you for contacting the KU Natural History Museum!

This form is for organized groups of children (such as summer camps, daycare programs, Parks and Rec activities) wanting to schedule a self-guided visit through our four floors of exhibits.  If you are scheduling for a K-12 or homeschool visit, please use the Self-guided K-12 offering.

Please submit your request at least 3 weeks before the requested visit date so that we can ensure there is adequate space in the galleries.
Due to our galleries being open to the public at the same time of your visit, we limit the number of children and adults in self-guided groups to 30 at a time. Groups larger than 30 visitors will need to divide the group and do alternate activities on campus. We can give you some ideas!
Date/Time Information

Please note that visits must be scheduled within regular museum hours:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday-Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Sunday: 12-4pm

Please provide your preferred date, along with two alternate dates:

The KU Natural History Museum asks for a suggested contribution of $4 for students and $7 for adults. Since your organization receives a fee from the children participating in your summer camp, daycare, or parks and rec program, please kindly respect our contribution ask. The contribution can be processed at the front desk on the day you arrive. We accept cash, credit cards, and checks. We can also arrange for you to contribute online or with a check before or after your visit. The contribution also applies to family members attending with the students. We ask that you communicate this information to your staff and chaperones. If your group is unable to provide a contribution, please mention this in the additional information text box at the end of the form. We ask for this info so that we can be prepared when you arrive. We want all to enjoy the museum!

Bus parking is free. Parking for cars: a parking garage is right next to the Kansas Union (which is just to the north of the museum). Payment is required at the time of parking. Pay by credit card at the kiosk, or pay by app.
The parking lot, Lot #61, across the street from the museum (to the east), is restricted year-round except for the weekends. You will get a ticket if you park there during the week.
