Android - Chrome

  1. To open the menu, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. Scroll down and tap: Settings from the menu.

  1. On the Settings screen, scroll down and tap: Site Settings.

  1. On the Site settins screen, sroll down and tap: Pop-ups and redirects.

  1. Select the radio button for either Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects or Don't allow sites to send pop-ups and use redirects, depending upon whether you would like to allow or block pop-ups respectively. When you are finished, go back in the menu options by tapping the back arrow in the top-left.

Clear Cache and Cookies

Browsing history, browser cache, and web browser cookies are stored within Chrome to improve browsing performance. You may want to clear your history from time to time if issues are encountered or you wish to reset your browser's behavior.

  1. To open the menu, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. Scroll down and tap: Settings.

  1. Tap: Privacy and security.

  1. Tap: Delete browsing data.

  1. Set the time you wish to delete by tapping the Last 7 days dropdown and make your selection, then check or uncheck the checkboxes in the list.

    • Common boxes checked are Browsing history, Cookies and site data, and Cached images and files.

  1. When you are ready to delete data, tap: Delete Data. Once data is deleted, tap the back arrow in the top-left to return to your browser window.

Enable or Disable Third-Party Cookies

Third-party cookies are stored on your device when visiting web pages to improve your performance on those sites. You may wish to enable or disable these cookies for privacy or performance reasons.

  1. To open the menu, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. Scroll down and tap: Settings.

  1. Select the radio button to allow or block third-party cookies, as desired. Then, tap the back arrow in the top-left to return to the menu options.

    • If you block third-party cookies, all third-party cookies from other sites are blocked unless the site is allowed on your exceptions list.

Open a Private Browsing Window

If you wish to view a website with minimal tracking and history, an Incognito Window can be opened within Chrome.

  1. To open the menu, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. Tap: New Incognito tab.

  1. A new incognito window will open. Check for the Incognito icon  Incognito  in the top-left to confirm you're in incognito mode.

Viewing Saved Credentials

In order to make logging in easier, Chrome can store passwords you used on websites you visit. These passwords can be viewed, deleted, or edited within Chrome.

  1. To open the menu, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. Scroll down and tap: Google Password Manager.

  1. Tap an entry in the list to see available options.

    • Additional options are available at the bottom of the screen, including Google Password Checker and Settings.

  1. Tap the eye icon to see the password, and optionally tap: Edit or Delete to make changes or remove the password. When you are finished, go back by tapping the back arrow in the top-left.

Android - Firefox

Often you may want to restrict what additional windows (pop-ups) web pages can open while using Firefox. As of late 2026, there are no pop-up blocker options in Firefox for Android.

Clear Cache and Cookies

Browsing history, browser cache, and web browser cookies are stored within Firefox to improve browsing performance. You may want to clear your history from time to time if issues are encountered or you wish to reset your browser's behavior.

  1. To open the menu, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. Scroll down, then tap: Delete browsing data.

  1. Check or uncheck the following checkboxes, depending upon which data you would like to reset for all time, then tap: Delete browsing data.

    • Most common options to check are Browsing history, Cookies and site data, and Cached images and files to clear cookies and cache.

  1. Tap the slider to the right of Enhanced Tracking Protection to toggle on or off third-party cookie tracking protection. You may also set website exceptions that exempt from third-party tracking protection by tapping: Exceptions.

  1. If Enhanced Tracking Protection is on, you may change the level of protection by selecting the radio button next to Standard, Strict, or Custom. You may also tap the Tell Website not to share & sell data slider to activate that feature.

Open a Private Browsing Window

If you wish to view a website with minimal tracking and history, a Private Window can be opened within Firefox.

  1. Tap the Plus icon.

  1. A new Private Browsing window will open. Check for the Private browsing icon  Private  to confirm you are using a private wiandow.
