Microsoft Outlook - Unable to Add Shared Calendars on macOS

Per the Microsoft documentation below, feature is available in the new Outlook

For more information on sharing your KU Calendar, please see the related article Sharing Your KU Calendar. If you are having issues accessing shared calendars via Outlook for macOS, there are three options.
 

Option One: Turn off New Outlook  

Turning off the new Outlook setting will give you the options to manage your calendar permissions and add another user's shared calendar to your client.

  1. Click Outlook in the right corner then click Legacy Outlook. You will be prompted to restart Outlook to apply your changes.

     
  2. Select the Calendar from the bottom left and you will see the Open Shared Calendar in the top ribbon on the Home tab.


    If you want to continue using new Outlook, either for aesthetic reasons or for other features, you can use one of the following workarounds to access shared calendars on your Mac.
     

Option Two: Add a Shared Calendar from an Email

When a user shares a calendar with you from the Outlook client (either on Windows or on a Mac with new Outlook turned off) or Outlook Web App , you'll get an email letting you know that the calendar has been shared. Adding the calendar via this email will add it to Shared Calendars in New Outlook.

  1. Select the message letting you know that your colleague has shared their calendar with you.
     
  2. Click the Accept and add this calendar link located below the To: field in the message.
     
     
  3. This link will change to one that says View Calendar.
            

 

Option Three: Add a Shared Calendar from the Outlook Mobile App

If you have access to a shared calendar but don't have an email from which to add it, you can add it via the Outlook Mobile app, available for both Android and iOS. You will need to have the same KU account connected to both the Mac using new Outlook and the Outlook mobile app.

  1. Open the Outlook mobile app.
     
  2. Click the Calendar icon in the lower right.

     
  3. Open the left sidebar, either by tapping your avatar in the upper left or by swiping from the left side of the screen.

     
  4. Click the Add Calendar button.
         
                                                                                                                        
  5. Choose Add a shared calendars.

                                                                                                                            
  6. Type the email address associated with the calendar that you want to access.
                                                       
  7. Click the plus sign (+) icon next to the calendar you want to add.

     

Once done, you'll see the shared calendar both on the sidebar of the Outlook mobile application and in the Shared Calendars section of new Outlook on the Mac.
