Summary

ArcGIS Desktop has been retired in favor of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro. Read below to learn how access ArcGIS in the cloud, install ArcGIS Pro on Windows devices, and how to log in to ArcGIS Pro to activate your installation.

ArcGIS installations are found: https://kusoftware.ku.edu.

Access ArcGIS Online Account

Go to The University of Kansas (arcgis.com).
Click Sign In.
Click The University of Kansas (It may take 1-2 minutes for the next page to load).
Login with your KU Online ID and password to Single Sign-On if prompted (It may take 1-2 minutes for the next page to load).

ArcGIS Pro - Installation

After the software has been purchased, download all of the files associated with ArcGIS Pro.
Navigate to your Downloads folder.
Now your ready to proceed with Step 1 of installation

If you need assistance with ordering or downloading your software. Please reach out to the IT Customer Service Center for assistance.

Step 1: Windows Runtime Installer (Required)

In your downloads folder, Open: windowsdesktop-runtime-8.0.10-win-x64.
Click Install.
Click Yes.
After the installation is complete, click Close.

Step 2: ArcGIS Installation

Click here to skip to Sign into ArcGIS Online

Open the ArcGISPro_33_190016 found in Downloads.
Click Next.
Check Launch the setup program and click Close.
Click Next.
Click Next again.
Accept the master agreement and click Next.
Choose your installation context and click Next.
Choose your preferred destination folder and click Next.
Click Install.
Wait for installation to complete. If it asks to allow the app to make changes to your device, click Yes; This requires administrative rights.
Check Run ArcGIS Pro now., and click Finish.

Sign into ArcGIS Online

Click Your ArcGIS organization's URL.
- Type ku.
- Click Continue.
Click The University of Kansas.
Complete the sign in process with your KU Online ID, and Password.

Installation of ArcGIS is now complete. It's recommended that you update your application. Please proceed to the next step.

Step 3: ArcGIS Patch Installation

Launch ArcGIS Pro.
When an update is available you will be notified in the upper right corner. Click the Notification.
Click Download Now.
Application will close. When prompted click Yes.
Click Yes.
