KUMC Account - Requesting Access to KU-Lawrence Resources

All KUMC students must complete the KU Online ID setup process once, even if you’ve previously taken classes at KU Lawrence (KUL). This ensures access to course-related content and that important notifications are sent to your KUMC email address.

Note: KUMC students do not get access to all KUL related resources and may need to rely on KUMC for access to Microsoft Office, Statistical software, Endnote, etc. Please contact the KUL helpdesk if you have any questions or concerns about access.

Get Started by performing the following:

1. Visit https://myidentity.ku.edu.

2. Click the Request an Account button.

3. You will be prompted to log in using your KUMC account credentials.

4. Once completed, your KUMC email address will be used for all official communications.

To obtain a KU Online ID, KUMC users should follow the same Online ID setup process as KU Lawrence (KUL) users. Please refer to the Account Setup article for detailed instructions.

Important Notes for KUMC Faculty/Staff:

• You will need your KUMC Employee ID number, which begins with an “M”.

• To obtain your Employee ID, contact KUMC Human Resources at 913-588-5080.

If you encounter issues during the setup process, please contact KU IT at 785-864-8080. In some cases, errors may be due to missing or incorrect information in your KUMC profile. KU IT will help identify what needs to be corrected and guide you to the appropriate resource.

Common profile issues may include:

• Incorrect or missing Date of Birth.

• Missing Student ID number (required for employees as well).

If you were previously a KUMC employee or student and no longer have any affiliation with KUMC (due to graduation, employment change, etc.), you must contact the KUL Helpdesk for assistance in obtaining a KU Lawrence email address.
