PURPOSE:

To define prohibited inducements of service members

APPLIES TO:

Employees of the University of Kansas

CAMPUS:

Edwards, Lawrence, Juniper Gardens, Parsons, Salina, Topeka, Wichita, Yoder, Medical Center, Kansas City

POLICY STATEMENT:

In accordance with the Department of Defense (DoD) Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), employees of the University of Kansas are prohibited from offering any inducements - such as gratuities, favors, discounts, entertainment, hospitality, loans, transportation, lodging, meals, or other items having a monetary value - to any individual or entity for the purpose of securing enrollment of Service members or obtaining access to tuition assistance (TA) funds.

This prohibition does not include salaries paid to employees or fees paid to contractors in conformity with all applicable laws. The intent of this policy is to support DoD efforts to eliminate aggressive or deceptive marketing practices directed towards Service members.
