To implement and enforce the necessary policies, procedures and safeguards to protect the privacy of the information contained in the Designated Record Set (DRS).
To inform patients of care options for Watkins Health Services during the hours the health center is closed.
To provide a means for spouses and domestic partners of students to receive healthcare at Watkins Health Services (WHS), Health Education Resources Office (HERO) and Counseling And Psychological Services (CAPS).
To facilitate the patient’s right to receive the Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) in compliance with the Privacy Rule of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Provide each patient with the opportunity to inspect or have copied medical information contained in their “designated record set” (DRS) used to make decisions about their medical care at Watkins Health Services (WHS).
To define the areas within Watkins Health Services where students may be employed.
To provide a method of refusing care to or terminating a relationship with a patient.
To identify opportunities and working parameters for volunteers with Watkins Health Services (WHS).
